Welcome to P.S. 160's School Counseling Webpage!
Welcome P.S. 160 school community members! Students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the general public often wonder just what it is that school counselors do on a daily basis. Gone are the days of making schedule changes for students who want to drop a class or meeting with the troublemakers in the school. The role of the school counselor has evolved over the years in order to meet the unique challenges and demands of the twenty-first century.
P.S. 160 currently has three full-time school counselors on staff: Ms. Laura Capo, Ms. Erin Lew and Ms. Helen Mach. All three counselors work together in order to develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that positively impacts student academic success, social emotional development and higher education/career readiness. We help students develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they will need in order to become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the counseling program here at P.S. 160!ATTENTION 5TH GRADE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES!During the first week of November, all fifth grade students and families will be mailed a letter stating that the 2018-2019 Middle School Application will be completed online through the My Schools website.
